Based in North East Fife, RF Stonemasons is an established stonemasonry company specialising in the restoration, repair and construction of traditional stonework across Central Scotland.

With a deep appreciation for the architectural heritage of the region, we understand the importance of preserving the character and integrity of traditional stone buildings. From historic homes and traditional boundary walls to commercial buildings, listed properties, chimneys and larger restoration projects, our approach is centred around quality workmanship, appropriate materials and traditional techniques.

I began my career in stonemasonry at the age of 17, working alongside a highly skilled local craftsman who introduced me to the trade and taught me the foundations of working with natural stone. Since qualifying over 14 years ago, I have gained extensive experience across a wide range of projects, from individual stone repairs and domestic properties to commercial buildings and large-scale heritage restoration projects, including castle restorations.

That experience has shaped the way RF Stonemasons operates today. We have grown from a small one-man business into an established team, while maintaining the same attention to detail and pride in workmanship that the business was founded upon.

Our work covers a broad range of traditional and specialist stonemasonry, including:

• Stone restoration and repairs

• Traditional stone building

• Stone cladding

• Natural stone indents and replacements

• Traditional lime mortar pointing and repointing

• Chimney repairs and rebuilding

• Stone tooling and dressing

• Lithomex and specialist stone repairs

• Boundary and retaining walls

• Commercial stonework

• Restoration of historic and listed masonry

We believe good stonemasonry is about more than simply repairing stone. It is about understanding the building, using appropriate materials and techniques, and carrying out work that respects the original craftsmanship.

Whether it is a small repair to a period property, restoration of a historic building or a larger commercial project, our aim is the same: to deliver high-quality workmanship that is built to last while preserving the character and integrity of the stonework.

RF Stonemasons — traditional craftsmanship, built on experience.
